Honey Bunches of Oats sound healthy, don't they?
Honey! Oats! Bunches! It all sounds pretty nutritious.
The truth is the cereal has both advantages and drawbacks.
The relatively low sugar content—6 grams per 3/4-cup serving—is a plus. That's nearly half the sugar of Frosted Flakes.
However, fiber and protein content leave something to be desired. It's also lower in whole grains than you might expect, serving up only 10 grams per serving. That's less than Count Chocula!
If you're looking to keep your sugar intake relatively low, Honey Bunches of Oats might make sense.
But if you want a well-rounded offering of useful nutrients, you'd be better served by seeking out a different option.
