There Might Be a Good Reason Tim Tebow Looks This Ridiculous
Tim Tebow is no stranger to bizarre workout techniques. The former Florida Gator/real-life incarnate of the The Hulk has been known to walk down a city street pulling a truck with his torso, and to chop wood with the style and grace of a lifelong lumberjack (but without the plaid shirt—actually with no shirt at all).

So you’ll be excused for wondering aloud, “what the heck is that?” when you watch this video of Tebow sitting in some kind of strange workout swing. The contraption is called a Plyo Swing, and according to Louie Simmons, owner of Westside Barbell and a leading innovator in the strength and power lifting space, it has a ton of benefits for athletes looking to explode off the football.
In a video posted to his Westside Barbell YouTube channel, Simmons says, “It’s a jumping device, not a leg press machine. I’ve had NFL players do 3 sets of 10 three times a week and say it’s the greatest thing they’ve ever used for coming off the ball.”
The faster you push yourself off the platform on the Plyo Swing, the more explosive power you’ll get in your legs. Tebow appears to be doing a great job of that.
Since the Plyo Swing confers a real athletic benefit, we unfortunately cannot ridicule Tebow here. But that’s probably for the best, seeing as how he’d probably crush us like an ant.
