Gaming Update: ‘Titanfall,’ ‘Evil Within’ and ‘Dead Rising 3’
We’ve got updates from some of the E3 favorites: Titanfall, Evil Within, and Dead Rising 3.
Titanfall Could Come to PS4
Titanfall, a highlight of the E3 conference, could be coming to the PS4. The game was initially introduced as an Xbox One exclusive, but during an interview with Eurogamer last week, Respawn Entertainment’s Joel Emslie opened the possibility of the game coming to other systems.
“It’s definitely not out of the question,” said Emslie. “We have a huge appreciation for the fans. Coming out and showing it to everybody, we’re super nervous and wanted to make sure everybody loved it. We love all of our fans, whatever console they support.”
However, the company has denied that the first-person multiplayer mech-centered game will be among the titles getting day-one downloadable content and tried to allay fans’ concerns about microtransactions. Titanfall will be released in spring 2014 for Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.

The survival horror genre has recently taken a hit with some disappointing titles. But at first glance, it looks like developer Shinji Mikami is ready to bring back the nightmares of The Evil Within. Based on the terrifying trailer, the title seems to be far more than a simple shooter.
The Evil Within follows protagonist Detective Sebastian as he attempts to survive the horrors inside an asylum. As he gets deeper into the asylum, Sebastian battles to maintain his sanity while trying to make sense of the creatures that have him in their sights.
The Evil Within is coming to Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4 and PC next year. Bethesda has also confirmed plans to release Wolfenstein: The New Order on the next-gen consoles.
Dead Rising 3 Announced As an Xbox One Launch Title
The sequel to Dead Rising 2, which is being developed by Capcom Vancouver, was officially announced by Microsoft during E3. The zombie title will operate in an open-world city and will use many of the same tricks as its predecessor to distract and kill zombies.
There will be a few changes though. The game will have a more serious tone than DR2, and the comedy will come out only through the actions of players. Executive producer Josh Bridge told Digital Spy, “We wanted to make it look more serious, but because we actually think there’s something to be said about having a bit of an emotional connection. With zombies being the threat, you’ve got to make it more serious.”
DR3 will be an Xbox exclusive, so gamers should not anticipate a PS4 version. During a recent interview, Capcom’s Senior VP Christian Svensson said there are “no current plans for any other platforms…It would be tantamount to asking Nintendo to put their key franchise on other platforms.”
