Next-Gen Tomb Raider Sequel on the Way

Square Enix has confirmed plans to release a sequel to their Tomb Raider reboot, which was released earlier this year. The upcoming game, which was first hinted at during Comic-Con, will be for the PS4 and Xbox One.

In a statement posted on the developer's website, CEO Phil Rogers wrote, "I am also excited to reveal that we are well into development on a next-generation Tomb Raider sequel—something you may have heard about recently."

The game will be bridged to its predecessor with a comic series from Dark Horse, which is slated for release in February 2014.

Deadpool's New Map Pack Released

Activision's Deadpool received new downloadable content late last week. The new pack, Merc with a Map, gives players two new maps, GRT Plaza and Inside the Tower, which can be accessed in both Infinite and Challenge modes, and two outfits, D-Pooly and Uncanny X-Force, for the Infinite mode. Of course, if you pre-ordered the game through GameStop, you already have the clothes.

The DLC is available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC gamers for $2.99.

Bioshock Infinite Maps Released, Mac Version Coming This Month

Bioshock Infinite's DLC, "Clash in the Clouds," was released Tuesday. The content, the first of two planned expansions, introduced four maps: Opz Zeal, Duke & Dimwit Theater, Raven's Dome and Emporia Arcade. Each location contains 15 waves of enemies, and each wave has a Blue Ribbon Challenge with a complicated objective. The "action-focused" DLC also gives gamers access to BTS videos, concept art and other info about the creation of the game through the exploration of the Columbian Archaeological Society in-game museum.

"Burial at Sea," the next planned BioShock Infinite DLC, will be split into two parts and focus more on narrative. The first half follows lead characters Booker and Elizabeth as they explore Rapture, the underwater city first navigated by players in 2007's BioShock, just ahead of its fall; and although we still don't know much about the second half yet, Irrational's Kevin Levine has confirmed that Elizabeth will be a playable character.

"Clash in the Clouds" is currently available for $5. "Burial at Sea" Part 1 and Part 2 will cost $15 each.

In other news, BioShock Infinite will be released for Mac users on Aug. 29 for $60.

Deep Down Trailer Uncovered

Information about CapCom's Deep Down continues to trickle in slowly. The developer released a teaser trailer for the game last week (check it out below) and promised to properly introduce the game at the Tokyo Game Show in September. Thus far, all we can gather is that it is a multiplayer fantasy-based online RPG game. There are hints of a darker tone than most MMORPGs, and as a gameplay clip from earlier this year reveals, there will be dragons. The game will most likely be a PlayStation exclusive, and it hasn't even been confirmed for a U.S. release yet.
