This week’s headline rock release goes to Kid Rock. But that’s not all—get ready for live compilations from Coldplay, AC/DC and Led Zeppelin. (Don’t forget to read about last week’s (Nov. 13) top rock releases.)

Kid Rock, Rebel Soul

Rebel Soul is Kid Rock’s ninth solo studio album. The project is produced by the Detroit artist himself and features the single “Let’s Ride,” which is dedicated to the men and women serving in our military. Producer Rick Rubin’s stamp is not on this album, as Rebel Soul signals the return of Kid Rock to his life-of-the-party, feel-good ways. The sound easily transfers from speakers to a packed stadium and was clearly created with a tour in mind—so much so that Rock brought his touring band, the Twisted Brown Trucker Band, into the studio for the recording. The LP also marks the first time that Kid Rock has allowed one of his albums to be sold on iTunes. Two of the best offerings are his cover versions of “Detroit, Michigan” and “Happy New Year.”

Led Zeppelin, Celebration Day

Celebration Day is a concert film that was recorded by Led Zeppelin in London in Dec. 2007. The concert was held in honor of the life of music executive Ahmet Ertegun, and it features the band reprising several of their major hits, including “Good Times Bad Times,” “Nobody’s Fault But Mine,” “Dazed and Confused,” and of course “Stairway To Heaven.” The standard edition of Celebration Day comes with one DVD and two soundtrack audio discs; the deluxe version features two DVDS and two discs; and on Dec. 10, fans will also have the option to purchase the recording on three vinyl LPs.

AC/DC, Live at River Plate

Live at River Plate is the first live album AC/DC has released in over 20 years. It documents the band’s performance at three concerts in Argentina in Dec. 2009 during the Black Ice World Tour. Included in the set list are “Rock ‘n Roll Train,” “Thunderstruck,” “Hells Bells,” and “Highway to Hell.” This project is ideal for any fan who wants to pick up some of the band’s favorites without buying each album—although a few run a little longer than their studio counterparts.

Coldplay, Live 2012

To tide fans over until their next release, Coldplay brought out Live 2012, a film and live album that captures the band performing on their Mylo Xyloto Tour in 2011. Coldplay announced earlier this year that they would be taking 2013 off, as front man/singer Chris Martin aims to spend more time with his family in their new home in Los Angeles. The set list on the video and the live album differ a little, but both feature cuts like “Princess of China,” featuring Rihanna, “Hurts Like Heaven,” “Us Against the World” and “Clocks.”
