TRAILER: Paul Walker Fights Crime in ‘Brick Mansions’
The dystopian action drama Brick Mansions stars Paul Walker as Damien Collier, an undercover cop battling corruption in crisis-plagued Detroit.
The film’s title refers to abandoned mansions that have been converted into prisons to house the most dangerous criminals. The area is surrounded by an enormous wall to protect other citizens. Collier’s path unexpectedly crosses with Lino (played by David Belle), an ex-convict struggling to lead an honest life. When Lino’s girlfriend is kidnapped by drug kingpin Tremaine, Lino is motivated to join forces with Collier to prevent the crime lord from carrying out his plot to destroy the city.
The movie is a remake of the 2004 French thriller District B13, which also starred Belle. Packed with action, it features exciting parkour stunts, a discipline co-founded by Belle himself.
Actor and rap artist RZA (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) plays the villainous Tremaine. A familiar face from TV and film, Carlo Rota, best known for his years on La Femme Nikita, plays George the Greek. The cast also includes Robert Maillet (Pacific Rim), Andreas Apergis (White House Down), and Bruce Ramsay as the mayor.
Camille Delamarre, known for his work on Transporter: The Series, directed the film. The screenplay was written by Luc Besson (3 Days to Kill) and Bibi Naceri, who collaborated on the original movie.
Brick Mansions heads to theaters nationwide April 25, 2014. Watch the trailer below.
