TRAILER: Thriller ‘McCanick’ Features the Late Cory Monteith
In the crime drama McCanick, narcotics detective Eugene McCanick and his partner Floyd hunt down Simon Weeks, a seemingly reformed criminal who has just been released from prison. For unknown reasons, McCanick, played by David Morse (The Odd Life of Timothy Green), is upset that Weeks is on the loose. He becomes paranoid and violent, and relentlessly chases the ex-con. McCanick’s mysterious motivation for catching Weeks apparently involves secrets from the detective’s past, and the truth is gradually revealed as McCanick and Floyd close in on their prey.
The role of Simon Weeks is played by the late Cory Monteith in this, the final film for the Glee star, who died tragically last year. Floyd is played by Mike Vogel, most recently known for his portrayal of Deputy Zack Shelby in the TV series, Bates Motel. The cast also includes Irish actor Ciaran Hinds (Closed Circuit) and Trevor Morgan (Vampire).
The movie is directed by Josh C. Waller (Raze). The screenplay was written by Daniel Noah, best known for the 2013 drama, Max Rose.
McCanick comes to theaters in limited release on March 21, 2014.
