Have you ever not been disappointed by an idea that you wrote about in the middle of the night? You wake up thinking you’ve got a killer bit for your stand-up show, then the next day, you try to figure out what’s so funny about flaming globes of Sigmund.

Most of these ideas get thrown in the trash before we leave the house. Unfortunately, some make it all the way to production. Today’s Fitness Fail Friday features one of those ideas.

Behold, the Speedfit Treadmobile.

In 2007, treadmobile inventor Alex Astilean promised his device would “change America from a fat one to a fit one.” It would do this by allowing Americans to finally fulfill their dream of running outside and on a treadmill—at the same time! His ultimate vision was to create a giant public transportation version of his machine.

Astilean is still waiting for investors.
