‘Sleeping Dogs’ Sequel ‘Triad Wars’ Coming in 2015
United Front, the developer behind Sleeping Dogs, has announced its next game, Triad Wars, an online open-world action strategy game to be released only for PC.
When the company announced the game late last year, they said its story would take place in the Sleeping Dogs universe; but it’s unclear if the story lines of the two games will intertwine. The forthcoming title will focus on the city’s criminal underbelly, and gamers will take on the role of a kingpin attempting to rise in the ranks and build his own underground empire.
“As an Enforcer and mastermind of your criminal enterprise, it’s up to you to construct an empire the likes of which your enemies would never dare to mess with,” reads the description on the company’s website. “On the mean streets of Hong Kong, however, brawn alone won’t be enough—you’re going to need money first, and for that you’ll need brains.”
With added territory comes more money, but a steady influx of cash won’t be enough to cement your status. Your crew will need to be well-rounded and formidable in several areas. “To survive, you’ll need to hone your driving skills, get comfortable with a gun, and also be generally proficient at punching guys in the face. In Hong Kong, the action never stops, and your rivals aren’t going down until you put them there,” writes Triad Wars community director James Baldwin.
Triad Wars is expected to arrive in the top half of next year, and gamers can now sign up for the closed beta. Check out the announcement trailer below.
