Rodman, just 20 years old, became the youngest player ever selected to the NWSL. She was entering her freshman year at Washington State and decided to enter the draft due to the coronavirus pandemic season cancelation of collegiate soccer.
“The people who I’ve talked to, my family, my mom, all helped me so much to make this decision,” said Rodman in her interview with the Washington Spirits.

Rodman’s soccer resume is exceptional and could have easily been the first pick. Part of the US Women’s National team and formerly the No. 1 high school recruit in the country, Rodman is fit for the pros.
The NWSL draft consisted of four rounds and 40 players selected. What’s next is players are scheduled to report to camps on Feb. 1 to prepare for the April Challenge Cup.
