We don't know why sports teams are debuting new uniforms with weird patterns on the jersey, but UCLA's football team appears to be following a trend set by the Atlanta Hawks. Check out the new "Bruins Primeknit" uniforms, produced in collaboration with adidas.
Modernizing the famous gold stripe that has graced UCLA's football jerseys forever, the new threads feature gold metallic numbers splayed across a blue background, highlighted with a pattern of white lines that give the jersey a shimmering effect. The classic gold stripe strides across each shoulder pad, outlined in white. Gold pants complete the design effect.
"Champions Made Here" is written across the ribbing of the collar.
UCLA will debut the new unis at their home opener against Virginia on Sept. 5. Check out more photos below.
