The Ultimate Fighter season 12 coaches Georges St-Pierre [22-2 MMA, 16-2 UFC] and Josh Koscheck [15-4 MMA, 13-4 UFC] will square off in a welterweight title fight tomorrow night, Dec. 11. As a coach, the welterweight champion St-Pierre (a.k.a. GSP) dominated Josh Koscheck. However, Koscheck—the number one welterweight contender—did everything he could to get under GSP's skin. Pound-for-pound, GSP may well be the best MMA fighter in the world. Pound-for-pound, Koscheck could be the best smack talker in the sport. Ever since losing to GSP in 2007, he's been on a vicious winning streak. Expect plenty of booing to rain down on Koscheck as the two go head-to-head in GSP's hometown of Montreal, Quebec.
"I'm a bad guy; what can I say," Koscheck claims. "That's what everybody believes, so I might as well go with it. I'm here to win fights, make money and be successful. That's what this is about. This is a business, and if I've got to piss off 23,000 people, then that's what I'm going to do. I enjoy what I do, and I'm having fun with this. I plan on pissing 23,000 people off again on Saturday night by knocking St-Pierre out."
St-Pierre's motivation for the fight is to shut up Koscheck once and for all. "I'm doing this job because I want to be the best. I don't want to be number two. I want to be number one," he says. "I've always been like this in my life. And I don't only want to be number one. I want to be the greatest. So now I'm fighting Josh Koscheck. I fought him before...But I'm at my best when I'm fighting in my hometown. But also, if I win against Koscheck, it's going to be the end of it. It's going to be two times that I beat him. And if he has the same mentality as me...then he has to reconsider [his] career...It's going to take a long time again before he goes to the title, and maybe never again. So I'm going to beat him Saturday night, and that's going to be the end of it. I'm not going to talk about him for a long, long time. And I'm going to be very happy."
