UFC 141 Preview: Brock Lesnar vs. Alistair Overeem
On Friday, Dec. 30, UFC will put on one of its biggest shows of the year—UFC 141: Brock Lesnar vs. Alistair Overeem. Some of the world’s top fighters will step into the cage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas for this extremely stacked card. It’s a must-see that promises explosive matches and amazing action.
The main event, featuring two of the toughest heavyweights in MMA, will be Lesnar’s first fight since October 2011 and Overeem’s first UFC fight. For Lesnar, it will be a severe test. Overeem is the more seasoned fighter and, on paper, he looks to be the better battler. Also worth noting: this fight will decide who gets the next shot at the heavyweight title.
The co-main event at UFC 141 will pit Donald Cerrone against Nick Diaz. Both men are top contenders in the lightweight division, but many think Cerrone has the upper hand coming into this fight, because he’s coming off a strong first round submission and has much better striking than Diaz.
Other notable fights on the main card include top welterweight Jon Fitch vs. Johny Hendricks, Vladimir Matyushenko vs. Alexander Gustafsson and former TUF fighters Ross Pearson vs. Junior Assuncao.
Undercard
- Danny Castillo vs. Anthony Njokuani
- Dong Hyun Kim vs. Sean Pierson
- Jacob Volkmann vs. Efrain Escudero
- Matthew Riddle vs. Luis Ramos
- Manny Gamburyan vs. Diego Nunes
You can watch UFC 141 through your local Pay-Per-View provider, beginning at 10:00 p.m. EST on Dec. 30.
