Preview of UFC on FX 2 in Australia
This Friday, March 2, the UFC will pack its bags and head to Sydney, Australia for UFC on FX 2. The event will feature some of the league’s top fighters as well as two highly anticipated flyweight tournament semifinal bouts.
The main card is packed with action. Eighth-ranked welterweight Thiago Alves will take on Martin Kampmann in a fight between two of the heaviest hitters in the UFC. The first flyweight semifinal will feature Ian “Uncle Creepy” McCall and Demetrious Johnson, each of whom has only two MMA losses. The winner will be a heavy favorite to take home the flyweight tournament belt. The second flyweight semifinal will pit Joseph Benavidez against Yasuhiro Urushitani. Both are skilled strikers. Saturday’s two flyweight winners will later (date tbd) compete to become the UFC’s first-ever flyweight champion.
The last two marquee bouts will feature Aaron Rosa vs. James Te Huna and Court McGee vs. Constantinos Philippou. Thus, UFC on FX 2 is shaping up to be an extremely exciting card for fans down under.
