This morning, Nike unveiled images of the uniforms the United States Men’s National Soccer Team will wear when it hits the field for the start of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Perhaps because it’s a Monday and winter still hasn’t gotten the memo, the uniforms have not been met with many positive reviews.
On an all-white palette, the Polo-like threads from Nike feature classically simple design elements: a blue swoosh and a soccer shield on the front, and gray stripes and red trim around the collar. The sleeves are the only things breaking it up. It could double as the standard issue shirt you receive from your local country club. The white shorts feature red trim down the sides and the player’s number on the bottom of the left leg.
