Watch the Trailer for Vince Vaughn’s ‘Delivery Man’
In the new comedy Delivery Man, Vince Vaughn’s character, David Wozniak, has only succeeded at one thing—fathering an unbelievable number of children through anonymous sperm donations. Twenty years after making the donations to a fertility clinic, Wozniak finds out that he’s fathered 533 children.
Learning that 142 of “his” children are bringing a lawsuit to uncover his identity comes at a terrible time in his life. Wozniak owes money to the mob and is being dumped by his pregnant girlfriend. Faced with the dilemma of whether to come forward and reveal his identity, he does a lot of soul searching, gaining insight into what kind of father he could be.
The official trailer below showcases a comedy with heart. Vaughn’s flaky character is reminiscent of his previous roles, but he seems to have more depth in this film. Among Wozniak’s enormous brood of biological children: a girl who gets cat calls when she walks down the street and a barista who needs an hour off to go on an audition. Wozniak’s attempts to play their guardian angel are both touching and comical.
This Dreamworks film was written and directed by Ken Scott and is a remake of Scott’s Starbuck (2011). Delivery Man, co-starring Chris Pratt and Cobie Smulders, is expected in theaters Nov. 22.
