The series, which originally ran from 1977 to 1983, mainly focused on two police officer pals, Frank “Ponch” Poncherello and Jon Baker. Since the show wrapped over 30 years ago, it has lived on in frequent reruns, re-discovered by new generations of viewers.

The movie is being produced by Andrew Panay (the Van Wilder franchise and Wedding Crashers).
Over the years, D’Onofrio has played a wide range of characters and is no stranger to antagonist roles. Lately, he has garnered attention for his impressive portrayal of Wilson Fisk in Marvel’s Daredevil TV series. The actor will next be seen in Jurassic World, premiering June 12.
