Vote for the UFC Undisputed 3 Cover Athlete
Fight fans and gamers can vote for the new cover athlete of UFC Undisputed 3, the latest UFC game from THQ, to be released on XBox 360 and PS3 next year. The candidates are all UFC titleholders: lightweight champion Frank Edgar, welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre, middleweight champion Anderson Silva, light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez.
To vote, head over to the official UFC Undisputed 3 website any time before Sept. 30 at 12 p.m. PST, and pick the champion you think should grace the game’s cover.
No matter who is selected, UFC Undisputed 3 is already a highly-anticipated title. THQ has not released a UFC fighting game since mid-2010, and fans are expecting a dramatically improved experience after nearly two years of development.
They will not be disappointed. THQ has announced PRIDE mode, which resurrects the Japanese fighting league with new commentators and environments; a seriously expanded roster, including more than 150 selectable fighters; a refined submission system—and, for the first time in Undisputed history, entrances will be included.
We look for either GSP, Jon Jones or Anderson Silva to ultimately get the nod for the cover. Frank Edgar has two wins over legendary fighter BJ Penn, but it’s hard to see fans choosing him over those more established names. And while Cain Velasquez collected the UFC heavyweight title with his win over Brock Lesnar, it’s unlikely he’ll come out on top.
