For some people, age is a number that signifies approximately how much longer they have to live. It can be a product of one’s social clock, a concept that enables people to know when to start working, marry or have children.
For 100-year-old runner Ida Keeling, however, age is only a mentality.
Keeling ran the 100-meter dash in 1:17 at the Penn Relays this past weekend, breaking the record for athletes 100 years old and over.
After finishing the race, the centenarian proceeded to do Push-Ups and stretch, reinforcing her mindset that nothing will stop her from achieving success.
“I don’t want to let nobody drag me down,” Keeling said, according to Fox Sports.
