Recently, Thompson visited Liberty University (Lynchburg, Virginia) to show the football team how a real Bench Press is done. The 5-foot-5, 132-pound powerlifter performed her personal best and benched 325 pounds!
She started with 300 pounds, moved up to 315 and finally attempted 325, crushing her PR by 8 pounds. She has great form and doesn’t need to bounce the weight off her chest to perform the lift. She is in control the whole time.
Thompson has been powerlifting since 1999, and she can move serious weight. Not just on the bench, either. Her best Squat is 403 pounds, and her best raw Deadlift is 446 pounds. In addition to her career as a lifter, she is a high school math teacher and a mother of two kids. She is a beast.
