WATCH: Charles Barkley Loses His Mind After Villanova Wins the National Championship
It’s kind of a bummer being a commentator at the Final Four. With this year’s competition set up at NRG Stadium, the enormous home of the Houston Texans, the TBS halftime crew—Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, Ernie Johnson and Grant Hill—were forced to broadcast from deep behind the basket, behind Villanova’s student section. Since their view of the court was largely blocked, the gang had to watch the television feed showing the broadcast of the game instead.
Thrill of victory…

That’s what makes this video of Charles Barkley losing his freaking mind as Villanova’s Kris Jenkins hits the game-winning 3 at the buzzer to win the national championship so hilarious. Barkley, whose daughter graduated from ‘Nova, is forced to watch a TV screen in the direction opposite from the game-winner swishing behind him. Barkley shoots up into the air from his seat at the broadcast desk, both hands raised, then begins running around and leaping into the air again like the final shot from a bad 80s movie.
One of the best national championship games in history also gave us one of the all-time great reactions. We thank you, college basketball.
