Since its creation in 1973 the Drew League has been one of the most competitive pro-am summer leagues in the country and a hub for summer basketball in L.A. The Drew has seen local players young and old, street ball legends, rappers, big-time college players and professional stars both in the NBA and overseas all lacing up to compete for the coveted Drew League title.
So it's no surprise that on any given night you can see a hometown star like DeMar DeRozan, who hails from Compton, and Marvin Bagley, the current No. 1 high school player who goes to school in Los Angeles.
These two go at it as Bagley puts up 32 points and 12 boards to lead LAUNFD over DeRozan's MHP team in a game that also featured Montrezl Harrell of the Los Angeles Clippers and Norman Powell of the Toronto Raptors.
Watching a current NBA All-Star go up against a potential future one is nothing new for the Drew League. DerRozan has been playing there every summer since he was 14 years old.
Players like Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Paul Pierce, James Harden and Paul George, to name a few, have all been apart of this storied league, which will see more and more big names to come in the future.
Follow the Drew League to see what other stars will be there to show out this year.
