Watch Denver Broncos Teammates DeMarcus Ware and Shane Ray Race For $10,000
Training camp can be a boring time for NFL players. Especially for veterans. They go over the same stuff they did last year and the year before that. That’s why players like to mix things up and have a little fun during camp. For the Denver Broncos, that would mean racing for money.

After a recent practice, defensive end/linebacker DeMarcus Ware and linebacker Shane Ray challenged each other to a 30-yard sprint—for $10,000. The two match up pretty evenly—Ware stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 258 pounds, and Ray stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 245 pounds—except that Ware is 34 years old and Ray is 23.
Ray should be able to smoke the 12-year vet, right? Wrong. Surprisingly, Ware holds his own. The race was so close, it needed a photo finish.

It looks like Ray beat Ware by leaning over the line. Regardless of who won the $10,000, the competitive fire that makes the Broncos defense one of the most dangerous in the league was on full display.
