Watch Hawks’ Kent Bazemore Laugh at Dwight Howard’s Mismatch Mid-Play
Mismatches are a big part of basketball, and teams try to take advantage of them. Case in point: Atlanta Hawks forward Kent Bazemore showed no respect for New York Knicks rookie Marshall Plumlee during Sunday’s game.
During a Hawks possession, you can clearly see Bazemore laugh at Plumlee’s attempt to guard Hawks center Dwight Howard. Though the Duke alum is 7-feet tall, he is no match for the 8-time All-star Howard.
Bazemore calls for a screen. Howard fakes running up to him, then makes a cut toward the basket. Trying to keep up with Howard, Plumlee slips while the two Hawks players execute a beautiful alley-oop.

Not only did Plumlee look like a fool on the play, he got laughed at before it even happened. In fairness to Plumlee, he didn’t know he would be playing in the game until right before tipoff. He was called up from his D-League team, the Westchester Knicks, right before the game because Knicks center Joakim Noah couldn’t play.
To get to the game on time, the 24-year-old had to sprint through the city because traffic was so bad and pay his cab driver $60 to run a red light. “Sprinting through the city,” he told ESPN. “I got here, they said, ‘Hey, do you need a warm-up?’ I said, ‘No, I’m already warm. I ran here.’”
Marshall Plumlee was a late call-up for the game. He sprinted through NYC streets + paid a cabbie $60 to run a red light to get here on time
