WATCH: High School Basketball Player Gets Dunked On So Hard He Physically Can’t Get Up
Look, no matter how many times your head coach implores you to “stand tall and take a charge,” or “be a man and take the contact,” sometimes you need to blatantly ignore those instructions. One of those times would be when your opponent is sprinting full speed down the lane, and you are the only thing between him and the basket. Get out of the way. Run. Duck. Do whatever it takes to avoid being dunked on, because it’s not worth being immortalized on the Internet for the rest of your life.

That’s what happened to a poor kid from Blue River High School, who got in the way of Desmond Bane, a star for Seton Catholic High School in Richmond, Indiana. Bane leveled a dunk so vicious it rendered the man who attempted to take the charge into a chalk outline. Seriously, whether from pure embarrassment or physical pain, the kid doesn’t move after being posterized. He just lies there, contemplating his existence.
By the way, those were only two of Bane’s 41 points, but they were by far the most emphatic.
“I was fortunate enough to be open in the lane, and I just took off,” Bane told the Palladium-Item Media Group.
So again, kids, let this be a lesson to you. Sometimes it’s better to get the hell out of the way.
