WATCH: Kyle Lowry Was Shocked by the Eastern Conference Finals Game 5 Stat Sheet
Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry knew the Cleveland Cavaliers delivered a dominant performance en route to a 116-78 victory in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The Raptors played poorly, and as they head back home for Game 6, they know they’ll need to play better to avoid elimination.
The Cavs crushed the Raptors from the tipoff to the final buzzer. They broke the Raptors’ spirit so much that Lowry was surprised by the stat sheet after the game.
As he sauntered to the podium for a post-game news conference, Lowry couldn’t hide his disappointment, but the disappointment turned to shock when he realized the Raptors shot 39.1 percent from the field, their worst shooting percentage since Game 2 (40.2 percent.) Lowry and DeMar DeRozan—the team’s leaders—failed to produce, combining for 27 points and shooting a combined 33.33 percent from the field.
The Raptors are one game away from heading into their off-season. And if they don’t play well in Game 6, Lowry and his teammates won’t have to worry about being shocked by more stat sheets.
