I know, I know. Calling something "the dunk of the year" sounds like empty hyperbole. But I mean it. I truly mean it. And it is!
A few months ago, we brought you this insane video of Texas freshman Kerwin Roach jumping and touching the highest marker on the vertical leap test. The 6-foot-3 guard could touch the top of the backboard. Last night, in a game against UT Arlington, Roach put his ridiculous hops on full display.
Driving down the middle of the lane at full speed, Roach took off from just inside the free-throw line and threw down one of the most vicious dunks we've ever seen. What made the play even more ridiculous: Roach did right on top of a UT Arlington big man, who must have thought it was a good idea to try to stop Roach from finishing his sky-high acrobatic move.
Keep your eye on Roach as the season goes on. We have a feeling he'll be doing more of this as his collegiate career progresses. We might run out of superlatives.
