WB Releases New ‘Suicide Squad’ Trailer
Warner Bros. released a new full-length Suicide Squad trailer last week. Check it out below!
With Queen’s brilliant “Bohemian Rhapsody” playing in the background, the clip gives us a better look at the ragtag band of misfits that Viola Davis’s Amanda Waller puts together. The group, which includes Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), El Diablo (Jay Hernandez), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) and Deadshot (Will Smith), is recruited to save the day or at least revel in the opportunity to kill people and incidentally save the world.
They all seem to have issues with aggression, but it is Harley (or the voices inside her head) who truly shines in the clip. So much so that critics claim the entire movie’s success is in her hands. Will she be an insane female villain whose outfits turn the average male teenage brain to mush? Or will she be nothing more than the Joker’s plaything, capable of spouting sharp one-liners and wearing skimpy clothing but not much else. Based on the clip, we at least know we’ll get a look at her past life as Dr. Harleen Quinzel—before she was tortured by the man she went to Arkham Asylum to evaluate, the Joker. We even see the moment when the infamous supervillian tosses her into a vat of boiling chemicals, then joins her, his melting clothes staining her hair red and blue.
Scheduled to hit theaters on Aug. 5, Suicide Squad will also star Cara Delevingne and Karen Fukuhara as the Enchantress and Katana, respectively, and Ben Affleck as Batman.
