Wipe the slate clean. We’ve got a whole new ballgame in the STACK Battle of the Brands fantasy football league. All four teams own 2-2 records after Week Four. Here’s a rundown of the action:
Team Nike Defeats Shorthanded Team adidas, 132-87
In his Battle of the Brands debut, Matt Ryan led all scorers with 32 points, and Marshawn Lynch added 25.5 from the flex position. Explosive scoring power was missing for Team adidas, which failed to score more than 100 points for the first time this season. This was no surprise, since both C.J. Spiller and Reggie Bush were questionable for Week Four action and stayed on the bench for Team adidas.
Team Reebok Gets Revenge, Beats Team Under Armour, 144-106
After Team Reebok running backs carried the team to a Week Three win, its wide receiving duo of Roddy White and Brandon Marshall emerged in a major way in Week Four, contributing a combined 64 points to the winning effort. Peyton Manning played his part, scoring 31 points, and Jamaal Charles overcame two early fumbles and scored two TDs, one on the ground and one receiving. Cam Newton scored a season-high 35 fantasy points.
Three Stars of the Week
3. Matt Ryan, Team Nike
Taking over for Alex Smith, Ryan looked good, throwing for 369 yards, three TDs and one interception.
2. Brandon Marshall, Team Reebok
Marshall was unstoppable on Monday Night Football, catching seven passes for 138 yards. To the pleasure of Marshall fantasy owners everywhere, he also scored a late TD with the win already in the bag.
1. Roddy White, Team Reebok
Big plays were the name of the game for White, who scored on receptions of 49 and 14 yards and hauled in a 59-yard catch in the final minute to set up a game-winning field goal.
