Tyler Eifert, the Cincinnati Bengals Pro Bowl tight end, prefers a somewhat unusual pre-game combo.
"My pre-game meal consists of spaghetti, two petite filet mignon steaks, a baked potato and three blueberry pancakes," Eifert told NFL.com in 2017.
Spaghetti or pancakes for a pre-game meal probably sounds familiar to a lot of high school football players, but the filet mignon?>
Not so much.
Adding blueberries to his pancakes fuels Eifert with some extra carbohydrates before he hits the field, and over the long term, dark berries can help fight pain and inflammation.
