For his role in the deflategate scandal, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was suspended for the first four games of the 2016 season. The Pats’ backup QB Jimmy Garoppolo will get a chance to show his stuff. Some analysts and fans think that if he performs great, Garoppolo could possibly play past Week 4. Head coach Bill Belichick thinks differently, and so should you.

Brady has been the face of the team since he took over the QB position in 2001. Arguably the best quarterback in NFL history, Brady is an 11-time Pro Bowler, a two-time NFL MVP, a four-time Super Bowl champion and a three-time Super Bowl MVP. So when Belichick was asked in a press conference whether Garoppolo might be playing more than expected, he dismissed the question.

Although Brady is now 38 years old, there’s no reason why he shouldn’t come back as the starter. He still produces great numbers. Last season, he threw for 4,770 yards, 36 touchdowns and only seven interceptions.
One reason for his longevity and success is his incredibly strict diet.

Unless Brady comes back out of shape and unprepared (highly unlikely), Garoppolo has no chance to replace him for the final 12 games of the season.
