New Details on Wii U Game Releases
After a scarcity of big-name titles for the first five months of its existence, the Wii U is finally getting some highly anticipated games. This week will be one of the biggest weeks so far for the new system, with four new multi-platform titles arriving on Tuesday: Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes; Fast and Furious Showdown; Resident Evil: Revelations; and Sniper Elite V2. Three Kirby games will also become available for download on Thursday: Dream Land 3, Super Star and Dream Course.
The new titles appear to signal the beginning of a ramped-up release schedule for the Nintendo Wii U. In last week’s Nintendo Direct broadcast, global president Satoru Iwata announced that Nintendo has been working with Sega to produce the latest Sonic the Hedgehog title, Lost World, which will be released exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. He also announced new DLC for Super Mario Brothers U. Called Super Luigi U, it will be available June 20. A packaged, stand-alone version of the game will also be available Aug. 20. Finally, Iwata promised a Sept. 15 release date for the highly anticipated The Wonderful 101 for Wii U.
More good news for fans looking forward to upcoming Wii U games: Iwata announced that gamers will get to try previously unreleased Wii U titles during E3 week at over 100 Best Buy locations.
