Will Speedy Bills WR Marquise Goodwin Live up to His Potential This Season?
Although Buffalo Bills wide receiver Marquise Goodwin came up short in his bid to make Team USA’s long jump squad, he’s been earning rave reviews from coaches as he competes for a starting spot in training camp.
On the Bills’ website, offensive coordinator Greg Roman praised the receiver’s abilities, saying, “World-class speed. The guy has a different attitude about him and a different look in his eye this year, and I like it. He’s showing up every single day. He’s somebody who’s on a mission.”

Goodwin’s speed—he ran a 4.27 40-Yard Dash at the 2013 NFL Combine—gives him deep-threat, big play potential. But despite that, his career hasn’t exactly had the greatest start. Entering his fourth year in the league, he has three career touchdowns and 349 receiving yards.
With receiver Sammy Watkins recently getting off the PUP list (Physically Unable To Perform), Goodwin could become a solid No. 2 or No. 3 receiver for quarterback Tyrod Taylor.

Watkins is also a capable deep threat, and Goodwin will be able to help stretch the field vertically. And that’s only going to expand the Bills’ offense.
