During a recent interview with Israel's Good Evening with Gai Pines, actress Gal Gadot addressed all the criticism she has received since she landed the role of Wonder Woman in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman movie.
She isn't worried about people's concerns about her physical appearance—especially her breasts.
"I represent the Wonder Woman of the new world. Breasts—anyone can buy them for 9,000 shekels (about $2,500 in U.S.) and everything is fine. By the way, Wonder Woman is Amazonian, and historically accurate Amazonian women actually had only one breast. So, if I'd really go 'by the book,' it'd be problematic," she said.
That doesn't mean Gadot won't make adjustments. She revealed that she is getting ready to kick off "physical preparations" for the movie. "[It's] a very serious training regimen: Kung Fu, kickboxing, swords, jujutsu, Brazilian—1,001 things—I'll gain body mass," she declared.
Director Zack Snyder released a statement earlier this month expressing confidence in Gadot's ability to take on the iconic role. "Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role," he said. "We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature-film incarnation of this beloved character."
Batman vs. Superman will hit theaters July 17, 2015.
