Draymond Green Is Eating More Red Meat to Prepare Himself to Play in Utah's Altitude

After playing Games 1 and 2 in the friendly confines of Oracle Arena, the Golden State Warriors will shift their second-round playoff series against the Utah Jazz to the east. The Warriors will head to Salt Lake City, where the altitude will climb from just 43 feet above sea level in Oakland to 4,266 feet in Salt Lake. This will have a major effect on the Warriors' lungs. Power forward Draymond Green has decided to get proactive.

Green told ESPN that he has been adding more red meat to his diet to employ its high amount of vitamin B6, which aids in the formation of red blood cells. More red blood cells in the body mean a better ability to adjust to Utah's high altitude, which increases the amount of hemoglobin in the blood, making it harder to breathe.

The Warriors will have had eight days off after dispatching the Portland Trail Blazers in four tidy games in the first round of the Western Conference Playoffs. Thus Green has had plenty of time to chow down on as much red meat as he can digest. We'll find out if his teammates have been similarly proactive by how they look in the fourth quarter of Game 3.
