David LaPlaca

David LaPlaca is a recent graduate of the University of Georgia, where he earned his Ph.D. in Kinesiology with a focus in Sports Pedagogy and a cognate in Nutrition. At UGA, he was a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Kinesiology and an Intern Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning Coach. His dissertation identified the characteristics differentiating expert, competent, and beginner strength and conditioning coaches by collecting data from 87 elite-level head strength and conditioning coaches with an average of 18 years of coaching experience. The findings of this study will support the selection, evaluation and development of current and future S&C coaches. David began his coaching career at Becker College (Leicester, Massachusetts) where he was the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for three years.
