Eleven-year-old point guard Jaden Newman has played high school basketball at the varsity level since she was in third grade. Now in sixth grade, she opened the home season last week by dropping 57 points (including 12 3-pointers) for her team, Downey Christian of Orlando, Florida. Newman scored 47 the previous week, passing the 1,000-point mark, making her the youngest high school player to do so.
Last season, Newman averaged 31 points and 9 assists. Check out the videos below from Elite Mixtapes, showing highlights from the season opener and a reel from earlier this year of Newman demonstrating her killer handles, expert shooting and ultimate control on the court.
