You’ve bragged about last fall’s accolades all winter and spring—to anyone willing to listen. If you’ve received some sniffs from big time colleges, kudos. If not, it’s time to prove you belong in their ranks. And the best forum to showcase your endless skills is at a college’s summer football camp.
“A summer camp is a great chance for you to see what is involved in the recruiting process,” says Bruce Feldman, author of the top-selling book, Meat Market: Inside the Smash-Mouth World of College Football Recruiting. “It’s a great opportunity for a football player to acquire techniques and drills to work on [during] the next couple of years,” adds Feldman, who had unprecedented access as he followed the recruiting trail from the vantage point of a college coach.
Below is a list of upcoming summer college football camps, categorized by geographic area. Click on the link for each college’s registration page and sign up—then let your game do the talking against other top recruits in the country.
Check back at stack.com next week for advice from Bruce Feldman about the dos and don’ts of summer camps and what college coaches really look for at these unofficial auditions.
Note: neither STACK nor Bruce Feldman advocates one college’s summer football camp over another. Schools were randomly picked by region and program history. If your favorite team is not listed, visit the school’s athletic website to find out if a camp is offered this summer.
