The action adventure film Big Game stars Samuel L. Jackson as a U.S. president who is stranded in the Finnish wilderness, 5,000 miles from American soil, when Air Force One is shot down by terrorists. Ejected from the plane and waiting for help, the most powerful man in the world is forced to rely on a 13-year-old boy named Oskari who is camping in the woods. Just hoping to track a deer, the boy stumbles upon much bigger game when he meets up with the leader of the free world.
With the terrorists closing in, the President and his new sidekick become the most valuable prey in the forest. As nervous Pentagon officials watch events unfold via satellite feed, the unlikely duo must team up in order to survive the next 24 hours, finding themselves in a number of dicey misadventures along the way.
Starring as Oskari is newcomer Onni Tommila, known for Last Cowboy Standing. The cast also features Ray Stevenson (Divergent film franchise), Victor Garber of TV’s The Flash, Felicity Huffman (American Crime), and Jim Broadbent (Paddington).
The film was written and directed by Finnish filmmaker Jalmari Helander, who previously worked with Tommila on the big screen fantasy adventure Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale.
Samuel L. Jackson, who can currently be seen in Avergers: Age of Ultron, is as busy as ever, with half a dozen movies in the works including the Tarzan reboot with Alexander Skarsgard, due out July 1, 2016.
Big Game premieres in theaters on June 26, 2015.
