WATCH: Minnesota Twins Pitcher Tyler Duffy Struck Out Four Batters in One Inning
Minnesota Twins pitcher Tyler Duffy had a career-high 9 strikeouts in a 3-1 loss to the Chicago White Sox on Sunday. That’s impressive, but what’s even more incredible is that four of those strikeouts came in the same inning.

The 25-year old opened the seventh inning by striking out Brett Lawrie. Then he whiffed Avisail Garcia. That’s when things got weird. On the third strike, Garcia swung, but the ball took a wild bounce off home plate, allowing him to trot safely to first.
Duffy struck out two more batters in the inning. The right-hander became the 77th player in Major League Baseball history to accomplish the rare four-strikeout inning.
“I didn’t even know I did that until after the game,” Duffy told the Star Tribune. “It’s great, but when you give up more runs than the other guys, it doesn’t even matter.”
