The Flyknit Trainer+ and Nike's Quest to Offer the World's Most Comfortable Running Shoe
Nike welcomed the 2012 Summer Olympics by releasing its newest running shoe: the Flyknit Trainer+.
One of Nike’s most innovative releases in recent years, the shoe combines cutting edge style with new materials to provide a perfect “second-skin” fit. Four years of R&D have resulted in a unique knitted design for the Flyknit Trainer+, which mimics the fit of a snug sock. The shoe’s ridiculously light weight (the men’s size 10 weighs only 8.4 ounces) and minimalist construction come from a weave of various yarns and fabrics. And since the shoe uses less material during the manufacturing process, Flyknits can be considered environmentally friendly.
Having arrived on the London 2012 Olympic medal stand, the Flyknit Trainer+ is currently available at store.Nike.com for $150. Wear them during the summer Olympic season or look for them this fall in ten different color combinations. See for yourself how the Flyknit Trainer+ stacks up against the competing adizero Primeknit.
