Action Flick ‘Pompeii’ Arrives in February
In the action-adventure film Pompeii, Milo, a Celtic slave-turned-gladiator, falls in love with Cassia, a beautiful and wealthy noblewoman who is being forced to marry a corrupt Roman senator. When Mount Vesuvius erupts, destroying one of the greatest cities of the ancient world, Milo can think only of his true love. In the midst of chaos, as lava flows and civilization crumbles around him, Milo fights his way out of the arena to save Cassia.
In the role of Milo is Kit Harington, best known as Jon Snow in the popular HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones. Starring alongside Harington is Emily Browning (Sleeping Beauty) as Cassia. The film also features Kiefer Sutherland, Carrie-Anne Moss and Jared Harris of TV’s The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.
The teaser trailer shows a larger than life drama that boasts stunning visuals.
This big budget flick was directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, who directed the Resident Evil series. The screenplay was written by a team that includes Janet Scott Batchler and Lee Batchler, both of whom worked on Batman Forever, along with writers Julian Fellowes (Downton Abbey) and Michael Robert Johnson (Sherlock Holmes).
Pompeiir opens in theaters Feb. 21, 2014.
