New Trailer: ‘2 Guns,’ Starring Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg
Universal Pictures has released a trailer for 2 Guns, the upcoming action flick starring Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg.
The three-minute clip opens with Bobby (Denzel) and Stig (Wahlberg) plotting to rob a bank across the street from a diner full of cops. Donning masks, the two pull the heist and get away with a trunk full of cash. But when they pull over to split up the loot, they realize they are both federal agents. Bobby works for the DEA and Stig works for the Special Forces branch of the Naval Police.
“The bank was a set up. We’ve got to find out whose money that was,” says Bobby in the clip. “Like we’re working together?” questions Stig. “No, not like we’re working together. Like we’re working in the same vicinity. In the same area code,” replies an irritated Bobby.
Naturally, drama and action ensue: gun fights, car chases, a damsel in distress (Paula Patton) and funny one-liners that are sure to make this unconventional buddy cop movie a hit.
2 Guns is being produced by Baltasar Kormákur, who recently worked with Wahlberg on the movie Contraband. James Marsden, Bill Paxton and Edward James Olmos are also in the film, which is based on a graphic novel by Steven Grant, who is best known for his work on the Marvel Comics mini-series The Punisher.
2 Guns will hit theaters on August 2.
