Cam Newton’s Younger Brother Caylin Throws for 364 Yards and 5 Touchdowns in a Single Half
Caylin Newton is at it again.
Just a couple of weeks after totaling 207 rushing yards in a win over one of Georgia’s top-ranked high school teams, Newton posted an unbelievable passing performance this past weekend.
Caylin—the younger brother of 2015 NFL MVP Cam Newton—led Grady High School (Atlanta) to a 74-14 walloping of Lithia Springs High School on Friday. Despite the fact that he only played in the first half, Newton posted an absolutely absurd stat line with 364 passing yards and five touchdowns. He also racked up an additional 53 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Like Cam, Caylin has a knack for throwing the deep ball. His quick release and dual-threat capabilities make him difficult for defenses to contain. On the season, Newton has now thrown for 11 passing touchdowns and just one interception. He currently ranks fourth in the state of Georgia in passing yardage:

Caylin is currently rated a three-star recruit by 247Sports.com, but he has yet to receive an offer from any Division I-A teams. That might have something to do with his size. Caylin is listed at 5-foot-11, 185 pounds by 247Sports. For comparison, Cam was 6-foot-5, 235 pounds during his senior year of high school.
Though Caylin and Cam are super tight, the younger Newton is determined to make his own name. “I work out at my high school. A lot of guys like to push me by saying, ‘Come on, Cam’s brother.’ That really irritates me, because I have a name. I can’t stand when people call me ‘Little Cam’ or compare me to my brother, but that’s my motivation,” Caylin told STACK. “Being my own person, accomplishing things for me—not because of my last name, but because of my first name. I have big dreams.”
