Bachelor Comedy ‘Cavemen’ Coming in February
The comedy Cavemen centers on L.A. bachelor Dean, played by Skylar Astin (Pitch Perfect). Burned out on partying and one-night stands, Dean is encouraged by his 9-year-old nephew and his best friend to search for lasting love. But he isn’t prepared to find a meaningful relationship in the jaded, superficial jungle of modern day Los Angeles.
Dean shares a large basement apartment called The Cave with his three pals, including one played by Chad Michael Murray (One Tree Hill).
In a recent red carpet interview for TV Now, Murray described the premise of the film and provided insight into his character. “Well, I’m Jay in the film,” he said. “It’s the story about four men, all on very different journeys to find love. My character is more of the arch-type that isn’t necessarily looking for that. He is just living his life, floating along. He hasn’t met the one yet that would make him go ‘OK, she’s it.’ He’s just not there yet.”
The cast features other notable actors such as Camilla Belle (Open Road), Jason Patric (My Sister’s Keeper), Kenny Wormald (Footloose 2011) and Alexis Knapp, known for her role in the hit film Project X.
Herschal Faber, who wrote the screenplay for last year’s comedy Mac & Devin Go to High School, wrote, directed and produced Cavemen, which hits theaters in limited release Feb. 7, 2014.
