Set Sail on the S.S. Coachella
This past Tuesday, Coachella Music Festival made waves with a venue change announcement. This December, the S.S. Coachella will set sail on musical voyages aboard a luxury cruise liner. That’s right, Coachella will leave behind the arid southern California desert and take to the seas on two separate three-day cruises.
The S.S. Coachella timed its two musical voyages perfectly—Bahamas on Dec. 16-19, and Jamaica on Dec. 19-23. College-age hipsters, Coachella’s perennial audience, will be able to board the tropical cruise on their winter break. And with amazing headliners like Girl Talk, Pulp, Hot Chip, and Yeasayer, the festival is sure to be a highlight of 2012.
This year, the S.S. Coachella will likely draw a different audience; the change of venue has the potential to dissuade past festival goers and attract new ones. Thinking about jumping aboard? You can make reservations starting July 21. Prices start at $500 per person.
