Last week, a gamer managed to get a peek inside Destiny’s second expansion, “House of Wolves” and subsequently posted images on Reddit. The info pointed to the DLC arriving May 19, and revealed a new Awoken storyline, an exclusive raid and three new Crucible maps, among other content.
Commenting about the leak on the Bungie website, community manager Deej confirmed that the DLC will arrive in the second quarter, but didn’t offer much more. “We’re keeping all other details under wraps for now,” he said. “There is a special team here that’s dedicated to creating some new ways for you to play Destiny. They’re also making the game you know a better reflection of what we’ve learned about you since you started playing. While they do their thing, we’ll walk the fine line between making you a part of the process and providing them with a safe place to explore possibilities and do their best work.”
In other news, during a recent Activision earnings call, CEO Eric Hirshberg teased future content. “Later this year, we will announce a major content release for the fall, so stay tuned,” he said. “And a very robust pipeline planned after that.”
Many believe the “major content release” points to the arrival of an expansion called “Comet,” which will introduce a new playable area in the game along with a heap of new story missions, raids, multiplayer maps and strikes.
