Get a Behind the Scenes Look at How the Cleveland Cavaliers are Working Out During the NBA Playoffs
During their run to the NBA Finals last season, the Cleveland Cavaliers had quite a bit of down time. They swept both their first and second round series against the Detroit Pistons and Atlanta Hawks, respectively, giving themselves ample time to recover, enjoy team dinners and, of course, continue to train.
Led by LeBron James, the Cavs took no days off during the playoffs last year, despite a bounty of off days. They even engaged in grueling VersaClimber training sessions to ensure their conditioning remained at peak levels. Now, after sweeping their first-round series against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday and staring down another long layoff as they await the survivor of the Milwaukee Bucks-Toronto Raptors series, their “no days off” philosophy is back in action.
The Cavs gave us an inside look at some of the Wednesday workouts their players are going through today, complete with an in-house DJ spinning tunes to get the guys hyped for training. You’ve got Kyrie Irving working on his core and performing Dumbbell Step-Ups with Knee Drive. Kevin Love can be found executing Overhead Med Ball Throws and Barbell Hip Thrusts. Tristan Thompson powers through a Resisted Scarecrow to Overhead Press. And LeBron James makes Cable Power Pulls look easy.

But of course, no Cavs workout would be complete without the aforementioned VersaClimber. The whole team can be seen getting their climb on as a finisher.
This team won’t be playing playoff basketball until next week, but there continues to be no rest for the defending champs as they look to go back to back.
