Is it Sept. 13 yet? Because after watching a side-by-side comparison of the PSP original and PS3 re-mastering of God of War: Origins, we can hardly wait to assume the role of Kratos for another Herculean adventure.
"Now, for the first time, players can experience the entire God of War adventure on their PS3, earning trophies and enjoying both critically acclaimed PSP titles in beautiful HD and stereoscopic 3D," said Randall Lowe, the game's producer. "It's something we're very excited about bringing to our audience, both fans and newcomers alike."
Origins includes PSP favorites Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta, re-mastered for an incredible 1080p look. But the folks at PlayStation wanted to go beyond those two titles and take God of War: Origins to a whole new level. "Being gluttons for punishment, we also decided from the beginning of the project that just re-mastering content from PSP resolution to 1080p wasn't necessarily challenging enough," said Nathan Phail-Liff, art director at Ready At Dawn Studios. "We also wanted to take advantage of our custom PS3 engine and try to implement full stereoscopic 3D support." How's that for an upgrade?
You can pick up a copy on Sept. 13, but after watching that video, we had to get our hands on a review copy. So over the next week, we'll be glued to our PS3, playing God of War: Origins. We just hope the game isn't too addicting. Stay tuned for our review on Monday, Aug. 29.
