Seann William Scott Returns for Sequel ‘Goon: Last of the Enforcers’
Seann William Scott will reprise role as hockey enforcer Doug “the Thug” Glatt for the feature film sports comedy sequel Goon: Last of the Enforcers, a follow-up to 2011’s Goon.
Making his directorial debut with this project is actor Jay Baruchel, who played Glatt’s best friend Pat in the original film. The sequel, which takes place during a pro lockout, will reunite the Halifax Highlanders and feature a number of new players.
Baruchel also co-wrote the script for the movie with collaborator Jesse Chabot, who is best known for writing the TV comedy series Just for Laughs: All-Access.
The first movie, which gained a cult following, revolved around the exceptionally violent Doug, who gets a shot at playing professional hockey, despite his habit of beating up everyone he encounters on the ice. The original producers—David Gross, Jesse Shapira, André Rouleau—are returning for the sequel. Jeff Arkuss, of the 2013 romantic comedy What If, will also be producing.
